FOR IDF SOLDIERS

In addition to being the Executive Director of

one of the hats I wear is that
I am the VP of Int'l Bus. Dev. of Zoombang, Inc.
Zoombang manufactures an impact mitigation and energy transfer polymer.
One of our products is called a ballistic chest shield (BCS).
It is a lightweight trauma pad that goes behind a ceramic bulletproof plate in a ceramic vest and reduces secondary injuries to the soldier when struck on the vest. i.e. if a plate is struck (GD forbid), the bullet is stopped by the plate, but the energy, heat and force of the impact continues into the body causing horrendous secondary injuries (broken bones, heart stoppage, collapsed lung, burns etc). This 170gm pad behind the plate dissipates 100% of the heat,100% of the spall and reduces the force of impact by up to 70%, allowing the soldier to remain in the fight.

Last week I had my company clear off the shelves and had the plant ship 500 BCSs to Israel. Each BCS costs between $55-$60. However, at my insistence, Zoombang has reduced the price by 50%. 1000 BCSs costs approximately $33K incl shipping after the 50% discount. After discussion with AFL board members, we have decided that every cent contributed to AFL right now will be earmarked for this vital protective gear... which I will personally be delivering to our precious Israeli soldiers.
Over the last two weeks, AFL contributions have purchased nearly 2500 BCSs which I have been getting to Israel and then delivering directly to various units (Egoz, Yahalom, Sayeret Matkal, Lotar, Yamam, Ravshatzim, etc.) around the country.
